The Open Door Clothing Bank is an outreach ministry of the Lititz UnitedMethodist Church. The clothing bank is a store-like setting offering"New" and "Like New" clothing at no cost to anyone whoneeds clothing. Need is defined as anyone who cannot afford to purchaseclothing or finds it a financial strain to clothe their families. This can be atemporary need to meet a period of unemployment, budget strain (such as thewinter heating season, unexpected bills, high medical costs), or to meetsomeone's need in crisis due to loss by fire, or abusive situations. Low orfixed income families are also served. The clothing bank is open to everyone(in our church, in our community, and surrounding communities).
We continually accept new and like new clothing throughout the week by placingdonations in green bins located by the elevator on each floor of our church -an easy drop-off. We ask you to give of your first fruits - even if it's justclothing! We thank you for your help in making this an excellent outreach!
Only NEW or LIKE NEW, clean, ready-to-wear clothing (for easy sorting and to eliminate recycling costs)
Maternity clothing and uniforms (work, school, boy scout, girl scout) accepted
Hats, Coats, Boots & Shoes, NEW or LIKE NEW, clean, ready-to-wear
Purses, Backpack NEW or GOOD condition
We especially need all sizes of children's clothing (they go quickly)
(Please - no stained, pilled, torn, oily, or paint splattered clothing. Underwear and swimsuits not accepted.)
Agency referrals not needed
Clothing is for personal use - not to be resold
We ask that you only take what you need
Volunteers from the community are welcomed to serve at the clothing bank
General information is collected to improve our service to you (number of adults, number of children, zip code, etc.)
Confidentiality is respected
Children must be attended at all times. Child care is not provided. (Pertains to both volunteers and guests)
